ANNUAL CONFERENCE

April 19, 2019 at Boise Centre East

Make arrangements now to attend the HRATV Annual Conference featuring keynote speaker, Avish Parashar.    In the presentation Ding Happens, Avish will break down why in today’s workplace environment, creativity and innovation are more important than ever. The world is changing rapidly. We need to do things differently than we did years ago – even months ago. If we don’t continually innovate, someone else will come along, innovate around us, and we’ll be left behind.  We don’t want any members left behind – get registered now!

The Human Resources Association of Treasure Valley is recognized by SHRM to offer Professional Development Credits (PDCs) for the SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP.

ding happens!

presented by avish parashar

This hilarious interactive program will show you how to deal with the unexpected, deliver great service, and keep business flowing. You will discover three simple but effective tools you can use to automatically make smarter choices that lead to less stress, happier customers, and greater success – even when things go wrong.

Through improv comedy games, you are involved, interacting, and laughing, but also learning critical lessons and skills about how to improvise with the unexpected:

  • Why remembering the “Big Picture” is so important, even though most people forget it.
  • How to focus on the only thing that really matters when things go wrong.
  • Two simple words that can transform a business, a relationship, and a life.

how you lead is your brand

presented by justin foster

You think about your people, the numbers, your own performance as a leader. But do you think about your organization's brand? How about your personal brand as a leader? Brand is the only thread that runs through all aspects of organizations large and small. In the 21st century, brand is no longer the external candy wrapper of an organization. It is the juicy middle - the culmination of culture, customer experience and innovation.

In short, brand is now a top-of-the-list priority for all leaders - regardless of title or role. In this talk specifically designed for HR leaders, brand strategist and speaker Justin Foster shares his thoughts on the five branding practices that are hallmarks of a contemporary leader. Some of these you might already do - and some will be surprising. Either way, you will get a fresh perspective on brands and branding - and how much influence you have on both.

happily ever employed: the employeepreneur
presented by dethra giles

Many organizations think they have a recruiting crisis when what they really have is a culture crisis. They have not taken the time to develop an environment that recruits and retains Employeepreneurs strategically. Employeepreneurs are people that manage their career like a business. They see their employer, their supervisor, peers, and subordinates as clients and they navigate the employment relationship with the same care that an entrepreneur would navigate client relationships. These people have taken full responsibility for their career and its progression.  Studies show these employees work harder and produce more. However, these types of employees need to work in an environment and culture that allows them to operate, learn and thrive. While many leaders will say they want this type of employee, they are not so excited about creating an environment where these types of people can thrive.  But, creating this type of culture is not as difficult as it may seem.
