The Human Resources Association of Treasure Valley is pleased to present the January program, "2017 Employment Law Outlook Under the Trump Administration," presented by John Ashby, an employment lawyer with Hawley Troxell.

President-elect Donald Trump will assume office on January 20, 2017.  Based on his campaign promises to reduce employment regulations that hurt job growth, we can expect a decidedly pro-business shift in labor and employment policy.

Please join John Ashby as he examines the key employment law issues facing employers in 2017 and discusses how to prepare for the changing landscape under the incoming Trump administration.  Topics will include:

  • Workplace policies that were discussed on the campaign trail, and how to prepare for their potential implementation;
  • Likely roll back of regulations and executive orders implemented under the Obama administration;
  • Possible changes to federal minimum wage, overtime and medical leave regulations;
  • Potential repeal and replacement of the Affordable Care Act.
John Ashby is a partner in Hawley Troxell’s employment law practice group.  John represents employers in administrative proceedings and litigation involving claims of wrongful discharge, discrimination, harassment, and fair labor standard practices. He also advises employers on compliance with federal and state employment laws and conducts management training in a variety of employment-related topics.  John is a member of HRATV’s Board of Directors and is a co-chair of the Legislative Affairs Committee.
