The Human Resources Association of Treasure Valley is pleased to present the November program, "Using Data to Drive a Strong Culture" presented by Pete Gombert.  Data is dominating decisions in all areas of business, so why has the field of Human Resources lagged behind in adopting data driven approaches to creating a stronger culture.  In this session, Pete Gombert, a successful three time software entrepreneur shows us how we can use data combined with machine learning to align actions with intentions to create a better workplace.

A life long entrepreneur, Pete Gombert has founded or co-founded businesses in several industries primarily focusing on innovative technology driven solutions. His approach to building businesses centers on building high performing, humane cultures focused on disrupting stagnant markets.

Pete founded GoodWell Venture Partners in 2017 to serve as the platform for incubating, accelerating and investing into disruptive early stage companies with a social mission at their core. Early in the life of GVP, he partnered with Scott Flynn to co-found indieDwell, a Public Benefit corporation focused on building durable, healthy, sustainable and energy efficient homes that anyone can afford. indieDwell has rocketed out off the start line and is where Pete spends the majority of his time. In addition to indieDwell, GoodWell Venture Partners has invested in or founded six other companies tackling large social issues.

Prior to GoodWell Venture Partners Pete founded and led Balihoo from startup to the leading marketing automation provider in the local marketing space. Balihoo was acquired by Engine in 2016. Prior to Balihoo Pete was the founder of Enerx, an enterprise software company focused on providing Trading and Risk Management solutions to the energy industry. Enerx was acquired by KW International in 2001 and the combined entity was subsequently acquired by Sunguard. Prior to Enerx he was also the co-founder of Red Celsius, an early provider of Activity Based Accounting solutions to the Energy and Financial Services industries.

Pete also serves as the Chairman of the Board of GoodWell, a Public Benefit Corporation he founded late in 2015, which focuses on bringing humanity to businesses around the world.

His business leadership has been featured by the world’s top media including The Economist, The New York Times, AdWeek and others. In 2013, 14 and 16 Balihoo was named one of the top 50 places to work in the country by Outside magazine.
