The Human Resources Association of Treasure Valley is pleased to present the August program, "Taking Ownership" presented by Jon Shipley. An attitude of ownership and accountability in life and work doesn’t simply appear when responsibility is given. This training is focused around the process of taking ownership, whether of a specific policy, a relationship, or an organization overall. It also covers how ignorance and apathy can prevent us from engagement and investing ourselves in that process. We’ll discuss the importance of accountability, and its potential impact on a job, a career, a team, and company culture.
Jon Shipley is a Human Resource Consultant, and has been working with AmeriBen since early 2016. He received his PhD in Organizational Communication from Texas A&M, and specializes in organizational culture, communication, and development. Jon’s expertise lies in creating interactive learning experiences – he has a decade of experience teaching at the university level and has received departmental awards based on that work. Currently he holds an adjunct position at Boise State University, teaching classes in organizational and interpersonal communication.
The Human Resources Association of Treasure Valley is recognized by SHRM to offer Professional Development Credits (PDCs) for the SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP.
