Please join us for HRATV's kick-off program for 2021 featuring Charity Nelson, Director of Economic Development with Boise Valley Economic Partnership (BVEP).  She will be sharing insights on how Idaho's explosive growth is altering the Treasure Valley business landscape and its lasting impact on jobs and wages. 

The presentation will cover how COVID impacted Idaho's business growth overall last year (or did it?), how Amazon's arrival is changing how companies attract and retain talent, and what workforce and market trends to look for in 2021. This is an important presentation for HR professionals to better understand the changing dynamics of the local job market and how to best position their company to remain competitive as the Valley business landscape continues to grow and change. 

ABOUT OUR PRESENTER

Charity Nelson joined BVEP in February of 2016 and brought her passion for the people side of business into the organization. As the Director of Economic Development she leads business attraction projects, providing site selectors and companies vetting our region with the crucial data and context they seek. She also serves as an advocate for local businesses who have talent attraction and acquisition needs.

Prior to joining BVEP, Charity spent 10+ years in Human Resources at Micron Technology, Inc. Her tenure at Micron included roles in recruiting, organizational effectiveness and talent acquisition strategy. She has experience in both domestic and global talent acquisition with skill sets ranging from manufacturing to specialized engineering.

Charity is dedicated to improving her community, empowering people and improving organizations. She sits on the Board of Directors for Capital Matrix and serves on several advisory boards including Zions Bank, TOK Commercial Real Estate and Boise State University’s Blue Sky Institute. She also participates in formal and informal mentoring programs for professionals in the Valley. She was raised in Idaho, graduating from Meridian High School. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Communication and a Master of Arts degree in Communication both from the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
