The Human Resources Association of Treasure Valley is pleased to announce the July Professional Development and Networking program "Moving Beyond Training to a Strategic Career Development Approach" presented by Paul Terry and Melissa Stack. Organizations make strategic decisions every day. What strategic decisions are you making about your people? We know that retention of highly skilled talent is challenging, and decisions regarding your talent require a strategic perspective in alignment with the overall business strategy. This presentation will explore how one organization met the challenge and achieved outstanding results through creating a unique global framework for identifying and building career paths for highly technical individual contributors.
ABOUT OUR PRESENTERS
Paul Terry and Melissa Stack began their partnership in 2013 as Asurion (a leading provider of technology device protection) began its journey in creating a robust career development approach for its 10,000+ employees. At the time, Melissa was a Director for Asurion’s Learning & Development team and Paul was beginning his consulting practice after serving as a division VP of HR for Emerson. They continued to work together for the next five years as Asurion’s career pathing project moved from one function to another, eventually creating an enterprise- wide framework that continues to serve the business today.
While Paul lives in Idaho and Melissa in Tennessee, they share a great working partnership and many similar interests and professional designations. Both are ICF-certified coaches, and have obtained professional certifications in Hogan Assessments, Myers-Briggs and advanced educational degrees. Melissa is also the author of the book “Starting Out, Starting Over – How to Live Your Best Life”.
Both enjoy traveling and learning about new cultures. Paul also enjoys the outdoors, camping and hiking, while Melissa enjoys helping worthy causes, cooking and reading.
This program is valid for 1 PDC for the SHRM-CP® or SHRM-SCP®.
